Graffiti Bridge is a journey into the imagery that transforms the infamous Graffiti Bridge from ugly industrialization into the ever evolving canvas of temporary art that it has become.

In response to the first few comments I put in a change for the cover. What does everyone think? Please respond I will go by the input.
The top is my front cover and the bottom is my back cover which i plan to be on the 12 x 12 blurb book.

  1. This is nice! Although I'm having a little trouble reading the title and your name. I would suggest a bright bold color since the text itself is suppose to look like graffiti.

  2. I really like the the front and back covers. It's nice having just glimpses of the parts of the bridge up front and then seeing it in it's entirety in the back. I also like how you've used your own hand to draw the title on the cover. A part of me likes it in black because it looks like another layer on all the graffiti that is on the bridge but it would be nice to see how it would look like in a different color just to compare.

  3. the space surrounding the photos on your cover is white, i think black may work better? maybe not, who knows. also, id def check out a different color for the title besides black, it melts into some of the images behind it making it hard to read.

  4. Hmm.. I think it.. but I wish it looked more like graffiti and less like the application Paint. Other then that, it looks great!

  5. i'd definitely like a different color of text. but i'm definitely feeling the small squares on the front and then full bleed of the entire bridge on the back.

  6. What if you eliminated the box on the lower left and put the title/ author on a black square? The squares work for me but the title on them messes them up.

  7. the squares are working really well for the cover pages. i would maybe suggest graffiti-ing the title and your name onto the bridge and take a picture to incorporate the title more with your layout.
i like your idea about having blank pages incorporated into my coffee table book.

  9. I really like the squares for the cover page! I'm just not crazy about the title written over it like that. I like kyla's idea about making one of the bottom squares black & then putting the title & author in white... or alex's idea about actually graffitting the bridge with the title & author(although this could get you into trouble! LOL so maybe not that idea!) I think if you keep playing with it you'll figure it out! I love the close up photos!! Stunning! I can't wait to be more! :D

  10. The covers are great, the grid idea works very well. Your colors are awesome in your pictures, keep that aspect up. I really like how you made your title and name on the front cover look like graffiti.

  11. I like the collage on the cover of the book. You may want to consider eliminating the lines in between the photos because they are a little distracting. Also, the purple text on the front cover is a little hard to read. I like the newest additions to your pictures, they are looking really great!

  12. I really like the ones with the text. Its just that I can barley read the text in both. Try creating some contrast between the text and the background images. Possibly make it stand out from the rest of the images in the back ground.

  13. The covers are great, and I like the blocks. They definitely need boundary lines. But, the title gets lost and leaves me uninterested. How about using a 3D title that jumps out at us, the same way the bridge commands our attention?

The artist statement is right on.

  14. Sky,

Dig the grid totally, but I strongly suggest putting the info (title and your name) on the inside cover with a plain boring font like helvetica or the like. Simply because there is so much squiggly formal information in each photo, and your point that it becomes this illegible image (right?) so you should differentiate from the two.

Did I say I dig the grid. Its fresh. Do it.

  15. great photos! i love how colorful they are. i do think that ur name should maybe go on the inside, since the gridlike cover is so intresting i think ur name at the bottom kindof makes the eye go there. i love the composition of ur pics, cant wait to see more of them!!!
